English: Doubt
French : Doute
Spanish: Duda
Meaning: the state of being unsure of something
As the month of April closes in, doubt creeps through me more. May marks the start of my 3 month tenure in another new department. One that I had chosen as my first choice to be confirmed in. Corporate Finance. It's name sends shivers throughout investment bankers. No life. Terrible working hours. You earn a lot of money because you won't have time to spend it. These are the things people say.
To me, it's not a matter of the hours. It's a matter of sustainability. Will I be able to push myself to be in here for at least 3 years? Will I be happy doing things that I do not really like? Then it comes back to another question. What do I really like? I like marketing. And I like teaching. I like to be able to share with people my thoughts and ideas. I like to be heard. So will Corporate Finance open a path for me to be able to do such things?
To be honest, I really don't know. What I know is, in this world, if you don't have the money, then you will either be lagging behind, or be left behind. They say money can't buy happiness. But I like to think that money will enable you to buy things that make you happy. So yeah, I guess my mind is clear. I know what I want.
But the question is, will I be doing it for as long as I want? I will. :)
